Fanfic - BW HP AU - Deadbones/Nisovin
Mar. 8th, 2016 03:28 amIt got longer than I expected.
Deadbones was bored. He had made lesson plans for the next several months, had already graded all the tests he had given (he had had help from his best pupil for that, though) and the Headmasters next plan wasn't to be set into motion until well into summer break, and the year had only just turned.
Pacing back and forth in his office he sighed before throwing himself on his couch, brooding as he pondered what he could do. He had no classes for the rest of the day, or even the next two days with the way his schedule had been set-up this year. Normally he'd use these days to prepare for classes, or go over homework, but everything was already done.
Waving a hand lazily in the air, he called his bottle of whiskey over, pouring a bit into a nearby glass, pondering his options.
He could experiment with some of his recent potions, although most of them were still very rough, and killing students was gauche. Anyway, Rob had asked him to not give students potions that could kill them, and although none of the potions should kill anyone, some of them likely could. An unfortunate side effect.
Roamin had been trying to get him to play some quidditch with him for months, but the idea of going outside and doing...sports....was entirely unappealing.
He could go into the city, find a pretty muggle and charm her, one way or another, and have a few good days before erasing her memory and coming back, but it was such a long trip, and he was frankly too lazy to leave the school most times. He'd try finding a lady at Hogsmeade, but they knew magic and how to defend themselves. Also, most of them were quite dowdy.
He could find a pretty sixth or seventh year here, but most of them knew better than to spend time with him alone. At least, all the Ravenclaws and Gryffindors did. He felt a slight pang of guilt doing anything to Slytherins, although they seemed to realise they weren't ever going to outsmart him, so they also stayed away. Although he could just make them come to his office to go over notes or something, they still might try and use magic against him, and that would just be bothersome getting a stunned student back to their dorm. The Hufflepuffs....bless their souls, trusted him quite a bit.
He smirked as he drank more whiskey, the idea of them trusting him amusing him for a moment.
He sighed, throwing the glass across the room.
He frowned when he realized the glass had broken, and instead was floating precariously in the air.
Tilting his head back until he was almost lying on the couch, he saw the face of Professor Nisovin appear, appearing to be frowning. As he sat upright, he realized it was actually a smile.
“What are you so pleased about?” Deadbones said, slightly disgruntled before he waved a hand at the floating glass, causing it to drop to the ground. Nisovin had access to all their quarters, even though he was sure he had locked his room twice as tight and with as many spells as possible.
Nisovin put his wand away, tilting his head slightly as he pondered the question.
“An interesting artifact has come across my desk. I'd rather not study it alone in the off chance it does something unsavoury. I was hoping you'd help me. Since you're so bored, I'm sure you'd love to,” Nisovin said, continuing to smile slightly.
Deadbones pondered this new option before shrugging. It was both here at the school, something new, and might explode.
“Sure, I'm in. What is it? Where'd you get it?” he asked as they traversed several secret passages before exiting out into Nisovin's tower room.
Although Deadbones loved the basement room for it's quietness, he did love seeing Nisovin's quarters. He had commandeered the entire top of one of the towers, making it a lavish observatory. The entire top half was clear glass, ensorcelled with the same spell that enchanted the great hall, allowing one to see the weather as though it was inside. Better yet though, with a wave of a hand you could chase the clouds away, and with some other hand gestures he had watched Nisovin do you could zoom in on particular stars or celestial phenomenon. You could do the same to the ground also, Deadbones had found out when he had sneaked in one day, and had spent most of the day watching a pair of students play hooky from school, making out near the woods.
His attention was drawn to the floating box in the centre of the room, surrounded by what felt to be at least three different protective spells. Pondering the box, he found it to be very plain for something that could possibly explode.
It was a small wooden box, about the size of human head. Taking a step closer, he noticed the outside was covered in what appeared to be ancient Aramaic script. Staring at it he tried to get a closer look, trying to figure out why the surface of the box seemed to almost shimmer, the letters moving and twisting and
Suddenly he was being hauled backwards by Nisovin, the two of them hitting a wall before Nisovin frowned at him, smacking him on the head. “Don't touch it!” he said, looking annoyed.
Deadbones shook his head, the off fuzziness leaving suddenly. “I wasn't trying to. What the fuck is that thing?”
Nisovin released him, looking at the box, frowning thoughtfully.
“Not sure yet. It was a gift from a friend, they found it in a tomb in Assyria. It seems to induce a...fugue like state if looked at too long. He hadn't tried to touch it barehanded, and instead sent it in a very large metal box. The box had started to warp when it got here,” Nisovin said, pointing at a heavily warped metal box that sat at the side of the room.
“Let me guess. You want me to touch it,” Deadbones said with a sigh, staring at it from further away. It seemed he needed to be rather close to it for it to draw him even closer, at least.
Nisovin frowned, pushing his glasses up his nose before nodding. “Yes, but under controlled circumstances. Notable with me further away so I can watch you.”
Deadbones sighed, taking his wand out. “If it starts to melt my flesh off, I'm blasting it, then you, then it again.”
Nisovin nodded, as though he knew what Deadbones was going to say as he hurried across the room, his own wand out before he lowered the shields around the cube, leaving it floating in the air.
He reached a hand out, caressing it gently. As soon as he did, everything seemed to freeze around him. He watched helplessly as the box seemed to study him before all the letters suddenly shifted into a flower pattern, gas leaking from the box before dropping to the ground with a clatter.
The gas seemed to expand around the room, Nisovin waving his wand frantically, encasing himself in a bubble of clean air. Deadbones groaned, eyes fluttering as he was unable to move anything else, gas trickling down his throat, making him want to cough, being only able to breath it in more and more.
Suddenly he was able to move, standing up straight, rubbing his head.
“Are you okay? What did the smoke do to you,” Nisovin asked, the faint sound of worry at the back of his voice, wand pointed at Deadbones though, hand unwavering.
Deadbones shuddered slightly, the sound of Nisovin's voice sending electrical shocks down his back. Smiling, he turned towards Nisovin, dropping his wand as he took a step towards him.
“Nothing at all. I feel perfectly fine. You seem a bit tense though. Are you okay?” Deadbones said, voice almost a purr, grinning as Nisovin took a step back before tensing up, waving his wand at him slightly. Nisovin had never minded Deadbones turning the sex appeal onto others, but having it turned against him suddenly was a new and unexpected development.
“Stay away,” Nisovin said, voice cold, flicking his wand, sending a tendril of magic through the air that Deadbones dodged.
Deadbones gasped, placing a hand over his heart.
“You wound me! I thought you'd want to talk about the experience we just had. Are having,” he said, grinning wider as he got closer to Nisovin. His entire head felt of smoke and mirrors, the only thing he was certain of was the need to touch Nisovin. Nothing else seemed to be of importance currently, and anything that he had been thinking about was gone.
As soon as he was a few steps away from Nisovin, he lunged at him. He hissed as he felt something burn against his arm, but it was too late as both him and Nisovin crashed into the ground, Nisovin's wand skittering against the floor.
“If you're going to turn into some sort of dust infused soul sucking monster and eat me and the rest of the school, please hurry up and do so,” Nisovin said, disgruntled as he tried to grab at his wand before Deadbones grabbed both of Nisovin's hands, pinning him to the ground, grinding against him.
Nisovin breathed out slowly through clenched teeth, hissing slightly as he stopped moving, fixing Deadbones with a glare.
“As much as you are known for being...easily aroused, this is not something you'd do,” he said before jerking his head away and hitting the floor hard as Deadbones leaned closer, lips almost touching his own.
“Haven't you ever wondered what it would be like to have sex up here, underneath the dome? Feeling someone touch you, cool air against your skin...warm lips, someone you...well, not that you should ever trust me, but at least someone you know,” Deadbones murmured, whispering into Nisovin's ears, his own eyes fluttering slightly as he ground against Nisovin again. “Must be all lonely up here, let me show you how good it can be with someone with some experience JESUS FUCKING CHRIST,” he shouted as suddenly he was flung backwards as Nisovin managed to finally get his fingers on his wand before jabbing it into Deadbones' side, sending him hurtling back with a great amount of magical force.
He started to stand up before he felt another blast of magic hit him. Blinking, he raised a hand to his head, feeling blood drip from his nose as he felt the fuzziness in his head suddenly disappear at the same time as hearing a faint popping sound behind his eyes.
“What...the fuck happened?” Deadbones said, wavering slightly as he tried to go get his wand before he was stopped, his wand winging past him and into Nisovin's hand.
Nisovin was glaring at him, face a vibrant, bright red. “You don't remember?” Nisovin said, clearly incredulous.
“I touched the cube, and now I'm over here with a bloody nose. Did it zap me?” Deadbones said, holding one sleeve up to his nose, hand outstretched to Nisovin, waiting for his wand back.
Nisovin frowned, clearly not buying the explanation, but tossed Deadbones his wand anyway.
“Not exactly. I think I can safely say we're not touching it again. You should go lie down for awhile.”
Deadbones sniffled, gagging slightly as he swallowed some blood. “Can I lie down here? I have a headache.”
Nisovin wavered for a moment before sighing.
“Fine. I have class soon anyway, don't touch anything else,” Nisovin said as he waved a wand at the cube, sending it somewhere else suddenly before leaving the room, closing the door behind himself.
Deadbones groaned, lying down on the couch, staring up at the ceiling.
He had a new plan, to get Nisovin to touch the cube next.
He grinned as he wiped his nose, waving a box of tissues out of the ether, smirking as he imagined Nisovin struggling against the smoke.
